What is the Global Day of Climate Action?

The Global Day of Climate Action is an annual direct action rally held in September, established by Fridays for Future. This day calls upon the world leaders to make concrete commitments to fight the climate crisis. This year, it precedes the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow.

What are we doing?

We are organizing strikes in San Diego on September 24th with youth from nearby schools in Downtown San Diego and in Downtown Chula Vista and supporting action organizers at other schools, including UCSD and SDSU. RSVP for the Downtown San Diego Strike or find another strike near you.

How can you join?

There are FOUR ways you can join in the action:

  1. Attend a protest and invite your friends!!
  2. If you are a student, you can help organize a strike at your school! Note that San Diego Unified School District students have been excused from school to attend the strike per this resolution!
  3. Volunteer to help on Friday Sept 24 – fill out our form!
  4. Use our promo kit to promote on social media, by email and text!
